Duckett's Grove is a ruined 19th-century great house and former estate in County Carlow, Ireland. Belonging to the Duckett family, it was formerly at the centre of a 12,000-acre (49 km2) estate, that dominated the landscape of the area for hundreds of years. This is Genuine 24ct Gold Leaf on Fabriano paper ref July 2017

St Marys Church - SOLD

St Mary’s Church of Ireland dates back to 1727, though its imposing tower and 60m-high spire were added in 1834. The church is a mixture of the classical and Gothic styles. The interior has retained its traditional galleries and features several statues created by important neo-classical architect Sir Richard Morrison.

"Gobbolino" - €449 - 30 x 30 x4cms

"Gobbolino, The Witch's Cat'" was one of my favourite books as a child. Gobbolino was turfed out as he was too cute and too sweet to be a tough witch's cat. Poor Gobbolino had lots of adventures before he finally found a warm heart and hearth. There is more to the story of my favourite book. However, this painting means more to me as I have tried to depict a pleading and softness in the look and the eyes. He could represent any animal hoping for a loving home.

The 'Twin' to match 'The Old Chimneys' painting and another beautiful scene well remembered from my childhood. I love the strong red of the lighthouse and if you look close, you can see the Poolbeg Station in the misty distance.

I grew up looking at this beautiful scene across the bay and always missed it. It was with a sigh of relief to finally paint it. I will have to do many more as it is a real comfort to me to look at this. By the way, it is to be found in Clontarf, on the Northside of Dublin Bay. Hope you like it.
